2020 WeatherEye Syrah #2
The goal with each unique version is to illuminate the spectrum of complex flavors and aromatics that are possible from one incredible block of Syrah. We seek the truest expression of Block 9 Syrah.
Version Two was picked (two weeks later than our Version One), destemmed, and aged in large neutral barrels. This wine offers up an abundance of black olives, truffles, black pepper, ripe plums and blackberries. Darker and more voluptuous than Version One. Bottled in March, and ready to drink now ~ 2031+
Not your grandmother’s White Zin. This Zinfandel was grown in one of the best vineyards in Walla Walla Valley. We picked, just after véraison, to preserve minerality, tension and nerve. We aged it in concrete to soften the edges while the lees provide a bit of polish. Rose petals, honeydew melon and fraise du bois with a touch of petrichor on the nose. The palate has energy and focus with bright acid creating an energizing and refreshing finish. This wine is unique and will open your mind to what White Zinfandel can be.
