2022 'Stigma' Chardonnay
A restrained, low-intervention Chardonnay—the soul of Burgundy, rooted in the Rocks.
THE PLACE
Freewater Rocks sits on the old alluvial fan of the Walla Walla River: dark basalt cobbles and gravel that drain fast and push roots deep. Chardonnay is rare here—which is exactly why it’s compelling.

TASTING NOTES
Orchard fruit and citrus up front, then a flicker of struck flint. 2022 is lighter on its feet than some vintages—more lift, less weight—yet still broad across the palate, finishing long and savory. With air, it tightens and lengthens into stone, citrus oil, and a quiet savor.
PAIRINGS
• Roast chicken, lemon, herbs
• Shellfish, drawn butter
• Grilled trout / halibut, olive oil, salt
• Spring vegetables, peas, fresh cheese
IN YOUR GLASS
